百年菉荳圍．Pátio do Mungo．Mungo Patio

Nearly half the houses at Pátio do Mungo were historical lodgings, built during the Qing dynasty. Lei’s family belonged to the clan minority that has been living in Macao for three generations. After the War of Resistance Against Japan had broken out, other clans from Guangdong province escaped and arrived at this safe and neutral city, eventually settling down.Nowadays, these old premisses have been sold out, the original buildings will be pulled down and replaced by a new sky scrapper. This kind of two-storey houses have experienced a long history for almost one century, but now everything has been changed. Although most of the descendants have moved from these alley houses, nevertheless, it is a fact that the historical buildings accompanied the development and growth of several generations.

在菉荳圍這條小巷中，其中幾乎半數民房也是建逾百年的清代祖屋，前業權人李氏家族是小數在澳門生活過三代的華人。抗日戰爭全面爆發後，原藉廣東新會的其他族人一直逃至這座安全的中立城市，隨後輾轉買下菉荳圍的一邊街房子並在那裡安頓下來。這些祖屋的業權已被買賣出，原址將被拆卸並另起高樓。這些瓦頂二層高的民房，經歷近一個世紀的摧殘，今天變得面目全非。雖然大多數後裔已經搬遷或移居外地，然而這些民房建築孕育了幾代人。
